Domestic violence is a terrible fact of life in our current society, affecting far too many women and children, and in ways that most of us cannot even imagine. Escaping the nightmare is often made all the more difficult when there are limited or no places offering women and children the refuge they so desperately seek.
Wentworth Point Community Central (WPCC) is proud to announce that its 2017 fundraising effort is to establish a women’s shelter in our local area, the Parramatta LGA. We are working with Women’s Community Shelters to create a safe environment that enables homeless women to rebuild self-esteem and achieve control and fulfilment of their lives.
To raise funds, a gala ball will be held on Saturday 21 October 2017 at Waterview in Bicentennial Park, Sydney Olympic Park.
The Carnivale themed event promises to be a great fun night, so get your friends together and reserve your table now!
Tickets are $180 per person or $1750 for a table of 10 and includes canapes on arrival, sumptuous 3 course meal, premium beer and wine (spirits available for purchase), softdrinks, a live band and dancing.
In keeping with the fun Carnivale theme, the event has a Creative Black Tie dress code. What does this mean? Think formal, with a fun, creative, colourful twist and you can’t go wrong.
Men might like to pair a striking bow tie with their formal suit, while appropriate choices for the girls include colourful floor length gowns, dressy pantsuits and cocktail dresses.
Colourful and fun accessories like feathers and masks etc are completely optional and very welcome.
The Smooth Jive Consultants will keep the fun and energy going throughout the night, playing a selection of great dance tunes sure to keep you out of your seat!
Live and silent auctions
With the help of our MC Roy, we will be running both a live and silent auction through the event, where you will have the chance to bid for some amazing items. Take a look at what's on offer here, there are some great deals to be had in aid of our worthy charity.
There’ll be lucky door prizes too, and with photo fun on hand to capture your memories, you will not want to miss this amazing night.
All guests are welcome to enjoy free bus transport from Wentworth Point to Waterview and return. The first bus will leave at 6pm sharp, the second and final trip will depart at 6.15pm. For the return journey, the first bus will leave Waterview at 10.30pm, followed by two more trips at 11 and 11.30pm.
Tax deductable donation
Following the event, up to $50 from every ticket purchased by an individual will be receipted by Women’s Community Shelters as an eligible tax deduction.
There is an opportunity to advise of any special dietary requirements during the booking process.
Online bookings are now open, see below. If you are expecting to be part of a group and are the first to book, make sure you select the option to be identified as the host for your table. You will then be listed on the system as the table host, so when your friends come to book, they will know which table is for your group. Alternatively, if you are not part of a group, just book seats on any unhosted table. It will be possible to shift things around later if you decide to join another table with available seats. Please just let us know as soon as you can.
