Peninsular Park Update

I’ve been contacted by Landcom with the following update …

Landcom has been appointed by Roads and Maritime Services to build the new 3.9 hectare park at Wentworth Point and its supporting infrastructure.

The approved concept plan includes provision for playgrounds, public art, a waterfront pedestrian walkway and cycle path.

We’ve started planning for construction and are currently procuring civil, marine and landscape design consultants to complete the detailed design based on the approved Concept for the park. Parramatta City Council will provide guidance to Landcom on all features of the park and will be the approval authority of the final design. Completion is targeted for the end of 2019 after which the park will be dedicated to Council and then opened to the public at a date to be finalised.

As the design progresses we will hold a weekend community information session at Wentworth Point to show local residents how the design is progressing and present information about the construction process and timeframes. Community feedback will be welcome.

At this stage construction is anticipated to start in the second half of this year.
