WPCC Christmas Party in the Piazza – 12 December, 5.30-10.30pm
Unfortunately due to Covid rules, we cannot hold the usual Christmas Party in the Piazza this year. However, we will combine two events – Music in the Piazza and the Christmas Party – into an evening of Christmas Music in the Piazza. As we must still limit numbers, please email Alison Ross-Smith (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like to attend. There will be a DJ, but please bring or buy your own food and drinks.
Please note this has nothing to do with the Pulse/CA event in the piazza on 19 December.
The Pulse Vision is that The Waterfront is a highly desirable place to live and the community experience is enhanced by the facilities of the Pulse Club and the Pulse Club is seen as contributing positively to property values.
The Pulse Mission is to:
• Provide a range of high quality lifestyle facilities to The Waterfront Community
• Protect the investment of our owners through good management of our assets
• Manage operations of the facility, balancing valued deliverables with cost containment.
The Sanctuary – The Hills Women’s Shelter
The 2017 WP Ball raised funds to provide the seed funding required to get started on the Parramatta Women’s Shelter. Thanks to all who supported this – it’s due to open later this year.
Great to see that the charity we raised funds for at last year’s WP Ball is off and running with the Parramatta shelter! Very happy that we provided the kick off funds to make this happen.

Notification of Council Papers wrt WP
There are over 150 pages in the business papers (pages 1052 – 1209).

Strata and community associations …
Across WP, generally each building has its own owners corporation (although there are a number of cases where multiple buildings are part of one owner’s corporation). In some cases, a group of buildings roll up into a community association.
Both owners corporations (also known as strata) and community associations have committees that make most of the decisions. Committee members are elected at the AGM and are limited to 9 people.
Fundamentally, the role of the owners corporations and community associations is to manage their property, including common areas.
WPCC is a separate entity the owners corporations and community associations. It has a completely different purpose – social activities and events, communications, advocacy.
Please direct queries / comments about property and common areas to the relevant owners corporations and community associations – unfortunately, we don’t have details for most of these and there is reticence on the part of some that we do to have this information shared, so we’re not in a position to post it. I would like to think that these bodies would want to engage with the community that they are in place to serve, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be the case.
An update on the local Women’s Community Shelter. The WP Ball 2017 raised the funds required to get this off the ground. The next steps have started!
Women’s Community Shelters are delighted to be working towards a new shelter for women, with or without children in the Parramatta LGA! We are extremely grateful for the support of Wentworth Point Community Central and City of Parramatta for their contribution of the set-up costs for this new shelter. Now we need the right people to form a local Board, who will be supported by WCS, to get things moving! Our shelter model involves community participation, fundraising and local advocacy and draws in incredible community support
Would you like to be a part of it? Come along to our Community Forum in partnership with City of Parramatta on Wednesday, 21st March from 6-8 PM at Parramatta City Meeting Rooms, 1 Fitzwilliam Street, Parramatta. Full invitation and RSVP details below!!
